Alvin is an experienced trainer with more than 10 years of experience helping clients to achieve their fitness goals through a personalized approach that is carefully considered for each individual client. Alvin strives to provide services in a supportive and positive environment by listening to his client’s needs, establishing goals and interim steps to achieve those goals, and advancing the fitness program in a structured way.

Alvin’s training philosophy emphasizes form, function, and the quality of movement. He not only wants clients to gain strength and better overall cardiovascular health, but he wants to make sure the base of movement is proper through attention to stability, balance and flexibility. His experience includes working with all ages. He specializes in strength training, injury prevention, and targeted functional exercise to augment your favorite physical activities. Alvin also has significant experience working with clients who are returning to fitness after surgery or injury, or beginning a fitness routine for the very first time to augment their overall health.

Alvin may be quiet and introspective at times, but he’s always paying special attention to your form and movement to ensure that you are safe and gain the most benefit from your exercise. In addition, you can expect Alvin to advance your personalized program and help push you forward toward your health and wellness goals.

Achieving a healthier, active lifestyle means that we are able to enjoy a higher quality of life and to continue doing what we love!

For 10 years, I’ve assisted young adults, baby boomers and seniors to re-enter exercise programs, build bone density, achieve a healthy weight, and increase balance and core strength.  I’ve also worked extensively with people recovering from painful back injuries and shoulder, hip, and knee replacements to help them successfully resume activities of daily living.

Exercise can help by improving our self-esteem, boosting energy levels and reducing daily stress.  Whether you enjoy tennis, dance, golf or simply sitting on the floor to play with grandkids or pets, I can design a safe, effective and fun exercise program to help you meet your fitness goals.

Each client’s unique program is based on a functional core training model which uses multi-planar exercise movements found in our daily activities. These training movements such as squatting, lifting, turning and bending, help us increase our strength, mobility, cardiovascular endurance, core stability and balance.

Steve has worked in the Health and fitness field for over 10 years. He has trained a variety of individuals including professional athletes, corporate executives, working professionals and children of all ages. Among playing baseball in college, Steve has also taught youth basketball and was the pitching coach for his High School. His personal involvement in a variety of sports has given him particular insight with form and functional training, which he has successfully implemented in a variety of individuals.

In addition to personal training, Steve also teaches circuit training classes. He teaches Cross-train Challenge on Mondays at 6:30 pm and Wednesday at 5:30 pm. These classes provide members with a chance to experiment with Steve’s training style in a larger atmosphere. He is also highly involved in group training and has found it can be a different way for clients to enjoy their exercise time.

Hello, I’m Mike Marrow and I have been with MRHC for 12 years and counting. I have been a part of the fitness world for about 16 years after working in the corporate sector for 12 years as a software consultant and sales Rep to the Federal Government. I can truly say my interest in Fitness grew quickly. I graduated James Madison University with a major in Business Management and minor in Physical Education. I have worked with several Gyms in the DC Metro area and enjoy what I do. My Philosophy is based on results which are obtained by proper warm ups and stretches, proper Form and technique, and the promoting of positive attitudes.
