I have been a personal trainer for more than 13 years and am passionate about improving my clients’ lives through fitness. Calisthenic movements and weight training enable my clients of all ages to enhance muscle strength, increase bone density, and improve flexibility. My experience and success in incorporating aspects of mind, body and balance into exercise regimens led me to become a Yoga instructor, and I often weave these elements into client workouts.
My ability to combine the best of both eastern and western techniques has achieved outstanding results for post-rehab clients, senior citizens, and younger clients who wish to maintain a high level of fitness and wellness. One individual presented with a knee injury due to weak hamstrings. After working with her to strengthen her muscles, we were able to resolve her injury. I have helped my senior clients improve their balance. They can confidently sustain a single leg balance for one full minute. I identify and implement the right combination of methods tailored to each client’s needs and goals.

I have been a group fitness instructor at McLean Racquet and Health Club for over 30 years and have taught a wide variety of classes ranging from Youth Fitness, Strength Training, Cardio Dance, High Intensity Interval Training, Stretch and Core. My three children all played soccer and I trained each of their travel soccer teams to prepare for their seasons. I know how hard it is to get fitness into your everyday life and still manage all the other items on your daily to do list. I would like to help you reach your goal of making fitness part of your daily life. Whether it’s one on one, group training, or family training I will make your workout fun and functional. Alvin is a personal trainer with more than 10 years of experience helping clients achieve their fitness goals through a personalized approach that is carefully considered for each individual client. Alvin holds a Bachelor’s degree in athletic training and a Master’s degree in exercise science. Alvin strives to provide services in a supportive and positive environment by listening to his clients’ needs, establishing goals and interim steps to achieve those goals, and advancing the fitness program in a structured way.
Alvin’s training philosophy emphasizes form, function, and the quality of movement. He not only wants clients to gain strength and better overall cardiovascular health, but he wants to make sure the base of movement is proper through attention to stability, balance, and flexibility. His experience includes working with all ages. He specializes in strength training, injury prevention, and targeted functional exercise to augment your favorite physical activities. Alvin also has significant experience working with clients who are returning to fitness after surgery or injury, or beginning a fitness routine for the very first time.
Alvin may be quiet and introspective at times, but he’s always paying special attention to your form and movement to ensure that you are safe and gain the most benefit from your exercise. In addition, you can expect Alvin to advance your personalized program and help push you forward toward your health and wellness goals

Hello, I’m Mike Marrow and I have been with MRHC for 12 years and counting. I have been a part of the fitness world for about 16 years after working in the corporate sector for 12 years as a software consultant and sales Rep to the Federal Government. I can truly say my interest in Fitness grew quickly. I graduated James Madison University with a major in Business Management and minor in Physical Education. I have worked with several Gyms in the DC Metro area and enjoy what I do. My Philosophy is based on results which are obtained by proper warm ups and stretches, proper Form and technique, and the promoting of positive attitudes.
